Shane Webcke’s hometown Hotel in Leyburn has dramatically changed colour over the last week with a bet that went horribly wrong for Shane.

In an earlier episode of ‘The Matty Johns Show’, a friendly wager was placed on the outcome of the recent Brisbane Broncos and Newcastle Knights game at Suncorp Stadium. If the Knights prevailed, Shane would have to paint the roof of his Royal Hotel the colours of the Knights, red and blue. If the Broncos won, then Matty Johns would have to paint his face for the next episode.

Unfortunately for Shane, the Knights won 30-22 and so the organising of the make-over began.

Over 1,000 people descended from around south-east Queensland to help with the paint job, including Matty Johns alter-ego Don Kirk.
